Workshops organisation

After initial contact Kate will discuss and plan a workshop to fit your own needs with her flexible approach and relaxed manner making the process an easy one. Kate will arrive in plenty of time before the workshop to set up – all you need to provide is a room with tables and chairs!

SCHOOL FUNDING: Many of Kate’s publicly funded schools access their PUPIL PREMIUM FUNDING (PPF) to enable a workshop to go ahead. In the 2014 to 2015 financial year, the total pupil premium budget from Central Government funding will increase from £1.875 billion to £2.5 billion. Schools will receive £1300 for each primary pupil who is currently eligible for free school meals (FSM) or has been eligible for FSM in the past 6 years (FSM ‘Ever 6’) and £935 will be allocated for secondary FSM ‘Ever 6’ pupils. This funding does not have to be spent on the pupil individually. A calculator for PPF is available online.

How it works

From experience Kate knows how to interact with large groups of young people who may have varying levels of attention and ability. With this in mind she is able to engage fully with all students using highly visual techniques which instantly have that WOW factor! Encouraging interaction with open questions Kate generally starts the session working on one student as a demo moving on to paired working putting everyone at eas and encouraging students to push their creativity.

NEW for 2021! ZOOM / ONLINE WORKSHOPS
With Covid now being part of our everyday life, Kate has adapted her workshops to suit todays educational needs.  There are several options available, you can either watch and interact or alternatively Kate can send out a kit of makeup so that the students participating online can follow and participate in the step-by-step demo using the same materials throughout as Kate.  Both options work really well, please enquire and chat with Kate regarding your needs.
Kate came to our Stagecoach School in Shrewsbury. Children from all ages had a fantastic experience with an all-day trauma stage makeup workshop. The students were instructed what to do with complete expertise, guidance and patience by Kate. The sessions were explained thoroughly and clearly. Makeup was used with all the correct safe materials and they learned with step by step guidance. Our students learned how to apply real open wounds, cuts, bruises and extra lumps and bumps. It looked so real. Lots and lots of fake blood made it very real! Some took turns on each other and they all learned great skills. They will definitely have some fantastic ideas for Halloween! Kate Griffiths has a wonderful approach with young people. I would recommend her to any theatre school. It was so much fun.
