Today is March 8th - the day that UK students of all ages return to the classrooms and I have already taken a booking for a three-day workshop with a secondary school in Gloucestershire who want to give their students some much needed inspirational, hands-on learning with a real human! We can't ignore the fact that our young people have been severely affected not only educationally but the situation has impacted on them hugely so, with that in mind, I have been able to confirm the booking, taking my assistant with me to demo on (rather than student demo) so that these young students will get a real-life experience rather than yet another online zoom session which they must be so fed up with. I for one, can't wait to get back in the classroom!
During February I was also fortunate enough to head-up makeup and SFX on a new feature film by renouned director Paul Knight of London Knight Productions. Due to the Covid restrictions we were tested throughout and stayed together in the location we were filming in. It was so good to be back on set after such a long time and we wrapped after an exciting 14 day shoot, with just a couple of scenes left to film (abroad, so we need to wait for the travel corridors to re-open). The film is called FYRE RISES and hopefully will be out later this year - no spoilers but we hope this will be the first of a franchise!
