Like Coca-Cola is to Christmas, Fanta is to Halloween so to celebrate the Spooky Season the brand  unleashed it’s biggest ever advertising campaign to date, featuring limited edition bottles and cans of it’s two new Halloween-inspired flavoured drinks Blood Orange Zero and Pink Grapefruit Zero.  The brand teamed up with Merlin Entertainments for the “Twisted Carnival” – an exciting, live theatrical Halloween experience where fans have been thrilled and terrified at the same time!  Guided through the Twisted  Carnival tent the public have been able to meet a series of creepy characters and take part in the live, thrilling immersive experience.  The experience is now on it’s last leg of the Halloween journey in Liverpool ONE having visited Thorpe Park Resort, Westfield London White City and Bullring & Grand Central in Birmingham. 

So what was my role?  I was brought in to design and create the makeup look for the Carnival characters - the Carnival Caller, the Master of Ceremonies, Jacks Widow and the head-in-the-jar character!  This would involve teaching the actors how to apply their own makeup for the tour around the UK and supplying them with exactly what they needed to get them through the whole touring experience.  Each actor was supplied with their own kit box, face charts and designs and an application guide and individual makeup supplies.  Check out the characters here…

The media launch was shot at Dukes Island Studios in west London and the tour started in early October.  If you haven’t already had the opportunity, you can catch it from November 4th at Liverpool ONE.


It was another great shoot to work on and sadly due to a huge Halloween workload I wasn't able to get to any of the venues to see if for myself but all the social media posts have been great to follow and watch!  You need to over 16 to enter the experience!  There's lots more on LADbible pages too!
